Advisor: Dr. Christopher Lemieux

Dr. Christopher Lemieux, a professor at W.L.U., is my Master’s thesis advisor. Dr. Lemieux’s research focuses on, “enhancing understanding of priority policy and management issues pertaining to natural resources, with special emphasis on parks and other forms of protected areas” (Wilfrid Laurier University, 2018). I completed the, “ES496: Theory/Practice Sustainability,” course during my undergraduate degree with Dr. Lemieux, and it was after completion of this course, that Dr. Lemieux reached out and encouraged me to pursue a Masters degree. When Dr. Lemieux officially proposed the thesis research project which I am now working towards completing, I knew it was a research project and opportunity I could not turn down!

Why Wilfrid Laurier University?

I completed my undergraduate degree at W.L.U., where I majored in both Environmental Studies and English. The reasons I chose to come to W.L.U. four years ago, were the same reason I decided to return to W.L.U. and pursue a Masters degree: the small campus and welcoming community atmosphere. It is a regular occurrence that I walk down the halls and run into familiar faces, whether those be professors, friends or now TA students. I look forward to being a part of W.L.U.’s research community, an opportunity I did not explore during my undergraduate degree. W.L.U. fosters a welcoming academic and social atmosphere that one cannot help but enjoy and want to be a part                                                                                                           of. I am excited to continue my academic journey at                                                                                                               W.L.U.!

“It’s great to be a Laurier golden hawk!”
