It is important to note that I have not formally conducted thesis research; I did not complete a thesis during my undergraduate degree. I have facilitated research during my years working for Laurel Creek Conservation Area in the form of distributing surveys, as well as, analyzing campsite and visitor statistics. Additionally, I completed a Honours Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and English at W.L.U. It was in my English classes that I was avidly encouraged to partake in Writing Centre workshops, as well as, peer and professor edit sessions. It was through these experiences that I was able to genuinely devote time to work towards perfecting my writing craft; an important skill to organize and summarize research. Throughout my undergraduate degree, I was given ample opportunities to complete research papers; therefore, I feel confident conducting literature reviews, a critical component of any thesis research project. While I have not conducted research specific to a thesis project, I hope the general, research-type skills that I have acquired during my years working and in academia will benefit me in the completion of my thesis research. Overall, this entire Masters thesis process is predicted to be a great learning opportunity!
